Puffins are often known as 'Clown Birds of the Atlantic', or 'sea parrots' due to their colourful bills and painted eyes (although in the winter their beaks and feet fade to grayish colour). Standing upright on sea cliffs along the northern oceans, Puffins nest on islands and rough coastlines feeding of fish - they can cram up to 40 in their mouth at the same time. Puffin Fact: Puffins can fly for long distances but it takes a lot of work, they need to flap their wings as much as 300-400 beats every minute to stay in the air. And their landings need some work, they often trip over their own feet. Adapted from CBC Kids
